From incredible flumes of water off tropical cliffs, to gentle falls along the sides of glaciers, there is something remarkable about them in the States, that makes them worth the chase.

Considering some important factors such as; approachability, beauty, landscape and longevity, here are 10 of the best in the United States, that are definitely worth seeing!

Niagara Falls – Near Buffalo, New York

A perfect combination of three magnificent sites. Two in the U.S.; American & Bridal Veil, and one Canadian; Horseshoe Falls.

Niagara falls mark the point at which the Niagara River crosses over the Niagara plateau.

The Horseshoe Falls is the uppermost waterfall while the other two waterfalls are on the downside of the river.

Located on the border of the USA and Canada, Niagara Falls is the most world renowned, and the most popular of all in North America. Niagara plunges about 758,000 gallons of water per second, producing a thundering sound that can be easily felt and heard.

There are a number of things you can do while visiting Niagara.
 

The most popular among these is the {Maid of The Mist} boat tour on the American side. The boat tour takes the visitors on a dramatic trip along the basin, enjoying views of turbulent whitewater, as well as huge rock formations.

Yosemite Falls – Yosemite National Park California

Being among one of the most popular, Yosemite is the tallest waterfall in North America, with a height of about 2245 feet.

You can easily access it, by taking a one-mile round trip that carries you to the bottom of Lower Yosemite Falls. Walking down this path gives you a splendid view of Upper Yosemite Falls, as it pours into the Lower.

If you wish to reach the top, there’s a hike of about 7.2 miles, including the return. We recommend only doing Yosemite Hike if your are used to hiking.

Lower Yosemite Falls on the contrary, has a two-mile round trip hike that takes you to the top, and is much easier to walk.

Falls Of Yellowstone National Park

If you think Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming contains only bison and geysers, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. This Park also has one of the Best Waterfalls in the United States.

Both the Upper and Lower Waterfalls of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, are definitely worth seeing!

Running through Yellowstone, the Yellowstone River plunges at a height of about 109 feet at the level of Upper Falls, and dives at the height of 308 feet at the Lower Falls, then pours into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

If you have enough time, it is recommended you enjoy both the {North and South} areas of the Canyon.

Sahalie Falls showcases foaming white water that plunges at a height of about 100 feet (30 meters), over a natural lava dam. Because of its spectacular view, Sahalie Falls was featured in the “Homeward Bound” Disney movie.

Sahalie Falls lies at a short distance of 0.5 miles hike from Koosah Falls along the McKenzie River. A zigzag trail through a lush green forest alongside the river with beautiful luminous water, this hiking trail serves visitors as one of the {best outdoor activities} to do in Oregon.

On the way to Sahalie Falls, you can also visit Koosah Falls. It pours about 70 feet into a pool, and although it may be less scenic than Sahalie, it is still worth experiencing.

Anna Ruby Falls – Georgia State

Anna Ruby consists of two waterfalls at a height of about 150 feet, as the {Curtis and York Creeks} descend down the mountain. It begins at Tray Mountain after following the Appalachian Trail, where both creeks unite at the bottom, to make Smith Creek going through Unicoi.

You can reach it by following a 0.4-mile trail from the visitors center. The trail itself is a treat for the enthusiastic hiker, going through a grassy green forest along a flowing – Smith Creek.
 

Cumberland Falls – State Of Kentucky

Cumberland Falls is one of the few places in the world that has the Moonbow. Also known as the lunar rainbow or the white rainbow, which is seen only when moonlight refracts tiny droplets of water.

The best time to see the moonbow is to visit this waterfall during the Full Moon.

The falls are located in McCreary and Whitley Country in the State of Kentucky. It is also called; Little Niagara, which refers to the Niagara of the South or the Great Falls.

This waterfall runs through the Cumberland River in Southeastern Kentucky. Searching for this waterfall, you may also see it named; Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. The total height is 69 feet and the width is 125 feet.

About 3600 cubic feet of water gushes from the waterfall every second, creating a breathtaking sight and formidable roar!

Cumberland falls also offers you a stunning hiking area of 17 miles, that goes through the State Park.
If you love hiking, Northern Kentucky has some spectacular trails you must explore as well.

Tahquamenon Falls – Michigan State

Located in Paradise in Michigan State, Tahquamenon Falls captivate the attention of visitors, because of its glamorous beauty and its beautiful surroundings. Where the leaves change color constantly, lending a fantastical beauty to the area that must be seen in person.

Tahquamenon consists of 50,000 acres and can be covered in 13 miles. The major part of this area is under development with woodlands. There is little in the means of accommodations, as it is mainly kept in a natural state, with no buildings, roads and powerlines.

This is the largest waterfall park in; East Mississippi.

The flow of water for this particular waterfall is about 50,000 gallons per second. The specialty of this park, is the view that can be seen from neighboring islands via a boat ride. When you reach these areas by boat, you can enjoy the wonderful and magnificent beauty of the entire waterfall.

You can also camp in this park, with assistance from the camp services.

Michigan State Park Track Chair

Tahquamenon’s track chair service also helps the visitors with disabilities, to explore more of this park.
Elders may still find this area to be difficult to navigate.

“Track chairs are off-road, electronic chairs can easily handle trails, snow, sand and even up to 8 inches of water, allowing users to explore areas of the parks that traditional wheelchairs might not reach.”

Havasu Falls – Arizona State

Havasu Falls is a Magnificently Famous Waterfall. It is located on an Indian reservation near Grand Canyon National Park, and at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

If you plan to take a trip to Havasu, it is recommended to plan well in advance, due to the long hike and to be able to stay overnight, to truly enjoy your visit. From Havasupai, it’s 10 miles of hiking to reach your final destination.

The Havasupai Nations occupy Havasu Falls and other nearby waterfalls. You do need permission to be in the area by means of; permission tickets. They do allow overnight camping in the Canyon.

Permissions are on a pre-sale basis, which means you have to buy them in advance and you can make reservations online.

Grand Canyon Arizona

Hiking is recommended for experienced hikers and remote campers only. Summers are extremely hot, especially in July and August down in the Canyon. For more detailed information, be sure to contact the National Park Service.

Burney Falls – California State

Burney Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls located in Northern California, with incredible natural sights and idyllic scenery.

If you are traveling to this location, plan to stay a few days, to explore the beauty of the whole region.
If tight on time, you can observe the Falls directly from the parking area, without hiking. The best time to visit is in October, as the leaves transform the scenery.

This area is also renowned for capturing amazing photographs, with its superb sunsets and sunrises!

Multnomah Falls – Oregon State

Multnomah Falls are about 48 kilometers east of the City of Portland, along the Columbia River Highway.

At 620 feet or 189 meters, this is Oregon State’s tallest and perhaps most beautiful waterfall. Visitors of all ages are attracted to the two-drop cascade, which leads to a lot of amazing photographs and beautiful memories.

There is also the availability of wheelchair viewing platforms, leading visitors to the top. This waterfall is very accessible for the elderly or those with difficulties getting access to certain areas.

Winter and springtime are most popular for viewing and taking photographs. The water freezes in the winter, making for spectacular photos. As the snow melts and the water begins to flow, the scenery and Falls become even more beautiful!
