“All I want is a congenial party. Ten minutes after leaving Newark, we shall be just one happy party, properly chaperoned, out for a real good time. I want no grouches or pessimists.”
Arthur Tauck Sr. spoke those words a century ago around the time of Tauck’s first-ever guided journey – one built on camaraderie, care, and a sense of adventure. That vision remains as relevant today as it was then. And last month, we gathered in Florence to celebrate it.
Each year, we bring together our Tauck Directors – our storytellers, problem-solvers, and partners in adventure – for our annual Tauck Director Seminar. Florence was more than just the backdrop for this year’s Seminar. It was a fitting tribute to 100 years of Tauck travel. A city of art, innovation, and reinvention – much like Tauck itself. For a few extraordinary days, more than 400 Tauck Directors from around the world – along with key suppliers and partners – came together as one global family, connected by a shared belief that travel enhances lives and is a force for good in our world. It was a celebration of people and purpose – an opportunity to honor the values that have guided us for a century and the experiences we create together that bring people closer, across cultures and across continents.
A highlight of our time in Florence was giving back to this remarkable city that welcomed us so warmly. Our team dedicated over 1,400 volunteer hours to restoration efforts across Florence – a reminder that travel isn’t just about seeing the world, but leaving it better than how we found it. From beautification and preservation efforts to programs supporting inclusive employment, it was deeply meaningful work empowered by close partnerships with local organizations – and it showed us, once again, that the journeys we take can have a positive impact that lasts long after we return home.
