Ocean River Adventures – Eco-Friendly Tours In Victoria
One of the great things about travel, is experiencing something new and exciting along the way. My wife and I are always looking for something different and off the beaten path, when visiting new places.
We have both enjoyed a limited amount of simple kayaking on various lakes, but have always, wanted to try kayaking on the sea. We could not have picked a better location and tour for beginners like us, than in Victoria, BC.
Ocean River Sports has been in business for well over decades in downtown Victoria, offering a huge selection of tours and instruction. They have a retail outlet, kayaking & paddle boarding instruction, rentals, tours and more.

Experience kayaking safely and discover the beauty of Victoria from the water. We chose their popular 3 hour scenic Victoria Harbour Kayak Tour, for our first adventure.
This is a perfect choice for beginners like ourselves, or for those experienced at kayaking, just looking for a relaxed guided paddling tour, out on the water.
After a brief introduction and instruction on how to safely navigate and paddle, our guide led us into the water to begin our journey up the scenic and calm waters of the; Gorge Waterway.
This is an area of the city that stretches from the inner harbour and follows along, a narrow waterway surrounded by; residential waterfront homes and businesses.
Along the way, we made several stops with our very informative guide, pointing out areas of interest and some history along the way.
Experienced & Knowledgeable Guides With Ocean River
Our 3 hour paddle up the Gorge waterway was superb for us beginners. A very peaceful and relaxing venture.
After our instruction on how to maneuver our craft, we found it incredibly easy to paddle, very stable and a lot of fun even for us beginners.
If this may be something you have always wanted to try and if you are physically able, then definitely go for it!
With your instructor going over safety and basic operation beforehand, you will be surprised, just how easy it is and fun!
The scenery you will experience from out on the water is unlike that from shore, and definitely worth experiencing.
There’s so much to see and do outdoors in the; Capital City of British Columbia. Taking a kayak adventure is definitely something I would highly recommend during your visit.
