Landerik is a Slovene bistro located in Old Town, owned by Nejc Skubic. I used Restaurant Week to visit it on Saturday. I walked from home and arrived at 1 pm. I guess it was crowded because event. I got a table but service was slow, just getting mineral water and an amuse-bouche took 15 minutes.
Menu
Amuse Bouche: homemade brioche and Slovenian meat
I took the vege option, bite with pumpkin mayo
Roasted beetroot, beetroot cream, pumpkin seed crisp, horseradish ice cream
Cold starter with beetroot wasn’t my favourit. Pumpkin seeds and horse rdish made it bearable
Homemade chicory with pumpkin oil, roasted onion, poached egg, potato mousse
Nice colors with violet flowers and yellow yolk on white, warm nice taste.
Fish fillet with walnut crust, celery puree, roasted leek
Cod fish had great crust and tastes complemented, even leek and celery that are not on top of my list.
Dessert for extra 8 €, Kaiserschmarrn
They are famous for this dessert, caramelized pastry, nugget mosse, and vanilla cream. It functions, maybe a bit too sweet.
Landerik as a bistro that follows zero waste and uses Slovene products is Michelin recommended. My experience was average, service was slow, and meals at the beginning didn’t impress but it picked up later. I paid 32 € for the menu, 8 € for dessert, and 12 € for 1l of mineral water (overpriced). As I saw they had an apprentice and that is probably part of service problem I wanted to tip them. It was not possible with card, changed to cash, a bit of confusion.
