We arrived on Friday afternoon and checked into the newly renovated Knott’s Berry Hotel in Buena Park. This family-friendly hotel features spacious rooms, modern amenities, and Snoopy-themed decor that kids will love. The rooms are comfortable and perfect for families, offering enough space for everyone to relax.

Why Choose Knott’s Hotel:

  • Free parking (saves $35/day at the park!)
  • Free shuttle to Disneyland and other nearby attractions
  • Few steps away to Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City – No Car Required
  • On-Site Starbucks & Kid-friendly menu at Thirty Acres Kitchen

Dinner was a delight at Thirty Acres Kitchen. This on-site restaurant is newly renovated and features a kids’ menu with plenty of options and delicious comfort food for adults. They also offer Breakfast Buffet in the mornings for just $16 per person. Don’t forget to try their boysenberry food items from the menu.

SATURDAY: A FULL DAY AT KNOTT’S BERRY FARM + BOYSENBERRY FESTIVAL FUN

Saturday was dedicated to exploring Knott’s Berry Farm, one of the best theme parks in Southern California for families. We started early to make the most of the day and avoid long lines.

Top Attractions at Knott’s Berry Farm:

  • Camp Snoopy: A must-visit for families with toddlers and younger kids
  • Ghost Town: Step back in time with wild west attractions and interactive fun (This was my kids favorite)
  • Thrill Rides: HangTime, Silver Bullet, and the Timber Mountain Log Ride for adrenaline seekers
  • Live Entertainment: Enjoy shows like the Calico Saloon Show and Wild West stunt performances

Special Event: Boysenberry Festival – This seasonal festival features limited-time food offerings, boysenberry-themed treats, and family activities throughout the park. We tried boysenberry meatballs, boysenberry lemonade, and even boysenberry cotton candy. It’s a must-do if you’re visiting during spring!

  • Buy tickets online in advance to save money and skip the ticket booth lines.
  • Download the Knott’s Berry Farm app for wait times, maps, and show schedules.

  • If you have little kids, spend time in Camp Snoopy , it’s perfect for toddlers and young children.
  • Consider a Fast Lane Pass on crowded days to skip lines on major rides.
  • Use Parent Swap if you have kids of different ages

SUNDAY: SPLASH INTO FUN AT KNOTT’S SOAK CITY & LUNCH AT MRS. KNOTT’S CHICKEN DINNER RESTAURANT

Our Sunday adventure took us to Knott’s Soak City Water Park, a perfect spot for cooling off and having fun. This water park is conveniently located next to the theme park and hotel.

Highlights at Knott’s Soak City:

  • Gremmie Lagoon: Ideal for toddlers
  • Beach House: Multi-level water play with slides and spray features
  • Lazy River and Wave Pool: Great for relaxing

Soak City Tips:

  • Buy tickets online to save time and money.

  • Arrive early to secure seating or rent a cabana for just $199
  • Bring water shoes and waterproof sunscreen
  • Pack towels and a change of clothes
  • Lockers available for rent ($15+ depending on size)
  • Eat during off-hours (before noon or after 2 PM) to avoid long lines.
  • Purchase an all-day dining pass if planning to eat multiple times.
  • No outside food allowed inside, but picnic areas are available outside the entrance.

After our soak city adventure, we headed to the legendary Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. This historic eatery serves up the best fried chicken in Southern California, along with mashed potatoes, biscuits with boysenberry jam, and of course, boysenberry pie. They also have a “chicken-less” option which I think is a great choice for Veg lovers.” . It’s a must-try when visiting Buena Park, CA.
