5 Cold Pressed Juice Detox Benefits & Recipes

Hey everyone! I am excited to share my blog post on my cold pressed juice detox benefits and juice recipes. If you have been following me on Instagram, I have been sharing my fitness journey which includes detox juices. Everyone should detox their bodies at some point in time and there are different ways of doing it but I wanted to do it more naturally with fruits and vegetables. I have researched different juice recipes for certain cleanses and different juicers which I will be sharing in this post.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COLD PRESS JUICING AND TRADITIONAL JUICING

Cold-pressed juice is made with a hydraulic press that uses thousands of pounds of pressure to extract the maximum amount of liquid from fresh fruits and vegetables. Unlike with traditional juicers, no additional heat or oxygen is used in the process, meaning that no nutrients are lost in the heat of traditional pasteurization.

I love the juicer that I found on Amazon! I got it on sale under $100 and it has been working great! Very powerful for a small size too. Like with most smaller juicers, fruits and vegetables with thicker skin must be removed before juicing like oranges, lemons and pineapples. Other than that, just cut them into smaller sizes to fit down the chute.

5 Cold Pressed Juice Detox Benefits & Recipes

1). YOU SAVE MONEY

Ever since I began juicing my own juices, I said I can never go back to places like Smoothie King! My juices and smoothies taste so good and I know I am using fresh products. I recently learned that Smoothie King does not use fresh fruits and vegetables and is loaded in sugar. All my juices stay sweet and I never add any sweeteners to make it sweet. It is all about getting the right combination of fruits and vegetables to together to get the sweet balance.

So no more $8 smoothies at Smoothie King or even getting detox juices from some of my favorite juice bars because I can replicate it at home for way cheaper. I can’t even buy bottle juice at the store anymore because I know it is loaded in preservatives and sugars and I can make fresh juices like oranges each day.

2). RETAIN MORE VITAMINS, MINERALS & ANTIOXIDANTS

When you cold-press your juice, it retains more of the vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and antioxidants than regular juice. This makes it a healthier alternative to traditional juicing.  You can get the nutrients you need, boost your energy levels, and improve your immune system with each bottle of cold-pressed juice.

Another benefit of cold-pressed juice is that all the ingredients are 100% natural and organic. There are no added sugar or preservatives since the fruit goes straight from the fruit to the bottle. More health benefits are in every bottle because none of the vitamins and minerals are lost in the process.

Cold pressed juices can be high in calories because of how dense and concentrated the juice is. One bottle is usually two servings. However, they are much better for your health when you compare them to regular juices at the supermarket. There are some things that I don’t juice because I see more benefits in just blended it or it is not juiceable such as spinach, banana and sometimes I prefer blending green apple and kale vs juicing it.

3). NATURAL WAY TO CLEANSE AND DETOX YOUR BODY

Detoxing is great way to cleanse your body. I first began to detox by buying the same type of juice from a local juice bar here in Dallas. I remember having to go to the bathroom so much the first day. It is a great colon cleanse because usually this is all that you are consuming but different types of juices so you can get the right amount of nutrients each day. At the end of the 3 day detox, I felt better, lighter and with so much more energy.

However, I could not do the detox regularly from the store because it cost so much buying their juices. I finally realized that I can juice this myself by investing on a juice and get the same result. There was one juice of the detox program that I could not ever finish because the taste was very particular which was beet juice. However, in my recipes below, I created a combination of fruits and vegetables that includes beets that helps me finish it a lot easier.

4). HELPS WITH YOUR WEIGHTLOSS JOURNEY

Juice definitely kicked off my fitness journey when it comes to weight loss. Before I actually began to incorporating exercises, I wanted to do a detox cleanse to get my body ready so I began to look up different juice recipes which I share further down in this post. Some of the juices/smoothies were meal replacements so I can burn/lose as much fat so when I do exercise the muscles can really shown through.

When you incorporate both juicing and exercises, you really maximize your results. Below is a before an after of my results from juicing and exercising. I will have separate blog post on my fitness routine that got me these results. But be sure to follow me on IG and pay attention to my stories because I will share it there first.

5). GET YOUR SERVINGS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Studies have shown that fruit and vegetable juices can boost levels of important vitamins and antioxidants, including folate, vitamin C, vitamin E and beta carotene. So, in theory, a juice cleanse is helpful for people who find it hard to eat enough fruits and vegetables. I know that I needed to get more servings of fruits and vegetables and this is a great way to do so.

Please note the pulp of fruits are very beneficial as well. So with certain fruits I do combine juicing and blending so I can get the full nutrients. Spinach and peeled green apple are some of the ones I will put in a blender along with the juice that I have juiced. Blending you will get more of thicker smoothie like texture. Depending on my mood, I may want more of a juice vs smoothie. Blending you get a lot of pulp which will make you want to chew vs drinking in my opinion

6 JUICE RECIPES TO TRY OUT

So here are some of my juice recipes that I like to drink! Keep in mind it is hard to measure these out but I kind of play it by ear with how much juice I get out. I like to add 2 tsp collagen powder and 1 tbsp of chia seeds for fiber and Omega 3. A couple of tips is to not add water to your juice. Adding water will dilute it more changing the flavor because you would want to add ice for coldness which will melt. I typically just blend with ice and the ice melts it and makes the juice cold.

If you want a smoothie like texture adding a banana and/or green apple with ice cubes in a blender does the trick. Banana is a great way to drink a “green smoothie” since some of the vegetables like kale, beets and celery can have a bitter taste to it. If you are not a pulp fan, always juice your citrus fruits vs blending it. Please note you are making fresh juice.

Don’t try to make a huge batch to last as long as store bought juices that has added preservations to make it last. You will that the juice even when in the fridge will begin to change color and it will taste a bit different too. So I only make juice enough for 24 hours.

  5. Beet Juice: Cold press 1 beet, 1 green apple, 1/4 cucumber, pineapple, 1 lime, 1 carrot and then blend 1 banana, 2 large fresh strawberries, frozen berry medley and ice cubes (This combo helps tone down the beet taste. Beet juice helps purify your blood and lower blood pressure)
