There are more than 250 beaches in Mallorca, and as a visitor to this lovely island, I can almost guarantee that there is a beach for everyone.

Some beaches have shallow water, some are secluded and off the beaten path while others are packed with people and come with full beach facilities.

I have made a list with three categories: Most beautiful beaches in Mallorca, Kids-friendly beaches in Mallorca, and Secluded beaches in Mallorca.

Most Beautiful beaches in Mallorca

Alcudia Beach

Platja de Alcudia is one of the longest beaches in Mallorca at 7 kilometers in length and up to 200 meters wide. The beach stretches further down in the bay of Alcudia under the name “Platja de Muro”.

This beach has been awarded “Blue Flag” and it comes with fine white sand and crystal clear water, glimmering in various shades of turquoise. It is truly stunning, and it’s suitable for families as well as the water is shallow.

Playa de Formentor

Playa de Formentor, also known as Cala Formentor is located in the north-eastern part of the island. Here’s everything you need, including sun lounges, sunshades, toilets, and showers.

Playa de Formentor is quite small at around 1 kilometer in length, so it does get crowded here during summertime. Come here in the morning before 11 to get a nice spot on the beach and parking for your car.

This beach is surrounded by natural beauty and the sand is fine-grained. The water is quite shallow, so it’s safe for children to swim here as well.

Cala Mesquida

Cala Mesquida is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca, located on the eastern side of the island. This place reminds me of the beaches in Hawaii with its large stretch of sand, mountains, and turquoise water with plenty of waves.

S’Amarador

S’Amarador is a natural beach in the nature reserve Cala Mondrago, located in the southeastern part of the island.

This beach has been voted as the best beach in Europe and it features shallow water and a large sandy beach inside a lush bay. From S’Amarador there are lovely walking trails to discover if you want to do something else besides sunbathing.

Es Trenc

Plata des Trenc, also known as Es Trenc is a famous beach in Mallorca with a 2-kilometer-long stretch of fine white sand. There are no high-rising hotels nearby so you definitely get a more secluded feeling here.

Being at Es Trenc almost feels as if you were somewhere in the Caribbean instead of Europe. The water is shallow and the color is out of this world with a magnificent turquoise color.

Calo des Moro

Coming to Calo des Moro early in the morning is like walking into a real-life postcard. It’s one of the most beautiful places to visit in Mallorca. To get here, one must go down a fair share of stairs.

The beach of Calo des Moro is quite small, so it does get crowded quite quickly in the summer months. So if you come here, make sure to go here early in the morning to get a nice spot.

Then you also get the chance to enjoy the true beauty of this lovely secluded bay. Caló des Moro is located close to the town of Cala Llombards in the southeastern part of the island.

Sa Calobra beach

Sa Calobra is one of the most picturesque beaches in Mallorca, featuring the towering walls of Torrent de Parreis with a small stretch of sand and pebbles in the middle.

To get here, one must drive down winding roads, but the trip is well worth it. Sa Calobra is one of the most breathtaking places to visit in Mallorca.

Cala Llombards

Cala Llombards has one of the most stunning beaches in Mallorca, quite similar to nearby Calo des Moro, but a bit bigger with more space for visitors.

Es Carbó

Es Carbó is somewhat of a hidden gem and a beach that is particularly popular among locals since not many tourists find their way here.

This beach is located near Colònia de Sant Jordi in the southern part of the island. It can only be reached on foot, which makes it one of the most secluded beaches in Mallorca.

Cala Agulla

Cala Agulla is a lovely beach near Capdepera and Cala Ratjada, surrounded by mountains and pine trees. The water is crystal clear and shallow, which makes it a great choice for families as well.

Sometimes, the sand can get a hue of pink, which further adds to the beauty of Cala Agulla. Just like other popular beaches in Mallorca, it does get crowded in July and August.

Cala Sa Nau

Cala Sa Nau is a small cove with soft white sand and clear water, surrounded by rock formations and pine trees. It has a cozy and secluded feel to it, despite being close to the popular resort town of Cala d’Or.

Platja del Port de Pollensa

If you’re looking for a calm and relaxing beach with all amenities close by, Platja del Port de Pollensa is a great choice. It’s a well-kept beach that is wide with plenty of space, no matter if you want to lie down in the sand or rent sun loungers.

Cala Torta

Cala Torta is a large sandy beach near the historical town of Arta. It’s one of the main nudist beaches in Mallorca, where it’s acceptable to sunbathe without clothes.

This beach features fine white sand and crystal clear water that gets deep quickly. There are no sun loungers or umbrellas to rent.
